Child PPa is a mobile-first solution with biometric capabilities to multiply the impact of organisations working to protect vulnerable children worldwide. It consists of a technological solution that brings to the humanitarian field the possibility of integrating into the projects advanced technology in order to identify and register vulnerable children with great accuracy and manage their data in a more efficient, transparent and secure way. The solution consists of an app linked to a multifactorial biometrical recognition software (palmar, facial, and fingerprint).

Child PPa is a social enterpreneurship led by itwillbe.org, designed in collaboration with multiple stakeholders with a shared mission of making every child in this world visible to make them count.

Technology that makes a difference for VULNERABLE children

ACCURATE in CHILDREN

Child PPa runs on a biometric engine that reads, among others, the vein pattern on hands, which doesn’t vary since childhood, making our solution the best in the market for programs targeting children.

PORTABLE

Child PPa Mobile Kit storages locally the information needed to operate in the field. The mobile kits synchronise when gaining connectivity, asking the user to handle duplicated or mismatching content

AFFORDABLE

Reusing, adapting and improving technologies already in the market and collaborating with different organisations allow us to deliver sophisticated solutions at an affordable price for social entities

INDIA

Partner: Don Bosco Youth At Risk

Ten million children live alone in the streets of India, falling prey to illness, malnutrition, and child-trafficking mafias that take advantage of their inability to provide their identity to exploit them through labor, sexual abuse, organ trafficking and drugs. 174 children go missing every day in the country.

ChildMISS is a network of over 80 NGOs interoperating to identify and protect street children in India. We are partnering with Don Bosco Youth at Risk since 2017 to increase their impact thanks to technological innovation.

Child PPa was co-created with Don Bosco, piloted in New Delhi and Bangalore and we are currently scaling the solution to other cities.

SPAIN

Partners: Fundación Salud Infantil & Ayudame3D

Every child has the right to a legal identity, but a quarter of children born today do not “officially” exist. Providing a digital ID at the moment of birth could make them visible and provide them with access to social and health services and, of course, better protection from abuse. However, biometrics are not accurate in babies, the reason why birth registration remains a challenge worldwide. After the good results of palm vein recognition in children, we are now partnering with Fundación Salud Infantil and Ayudame3D to design and print a new baby-guide to be able to collect babies palm pattern and carry on a research study on the reliability of ChildPPa in infants along with the research team of Fundación Salud Infantil and several hospitals in Spain, and eventually in India and Senegal too.
